If I had a hammer
I would build a whole new sun
One that burns all night
So you would not know
If it was night or day

If I had a hammer
I would also need a saw
And an axe and some nails
My finger nails won't do

If I had a hammer
I could do a lot of things
Like putting up a bookshelf
And paint them to look cool

If I had a hammer
I also need a screwdriver
And paint and brushes, oh my
My basement would be full

Oh I have a hammer
I can do a lot of work
But now I am at home
And I need to rest a bit
